About the Role

This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below: #LI-Onsite

Your Responsibilities

•    To exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The MAGNA Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.

•    Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.

•    To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
•    To support all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
•    To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.
•    Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal and external customers.

Who we are looking for

•    To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.
•    Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.
•    Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion. 
•    Immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.
•    Complete all required safety-related inspections. 
•    Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.
•    Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely

•    Billing to Customers
•    On a daily basis, ensure all parts are processed correctly through EDI with no parts remaining in the lot location
•    Processing manual invoices as required for product, tooling or other sundry requirements.
•    Perform appropriate reconciliation to sales orders and/or shipping information.
•    Coordinate activities with sales administration, engineering and shipping personnel ensuring that processes and procedures are in place to promote and support accurate and timely billing of services or product.
•    Accounts Receivable
•    On a daily basis, reconcile and communicate price differences to the sales administrator(s).
•    Research and follow up with customers, account managers, engineering and/or sales administration as required to resolving unpaid items.
•    Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
•    Maintain cash applications, account reconciliations and chargebacks.
•   Participate in and recommend improvements to the accounts receivable by tracking key performance indicators and other measurable reports.
•    Report all customer chargebacks (i.e. warranties, defects, etc.) to the quality department prior to month end close.
•    Perform other duties as directed.

Your preferred qualifications

•    Accounting or Finance degree preferred.

•    Demonstrate ability to work independently, but with appropriate supervision, the responsibilities and projects assigned to the position.
•    Proficiency in MS Office with advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.
•    Proven ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to business developments, transactions, records, etc.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Basic knowledge of accounting for a manufacturing business.
•    Four years’ or more of business experience in a Tier 1 automotive environment in lieu of degree.
