About the Role

This position reports directly to the Inside Paint Supervisor as assigned and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:

Your Responsibilities

· Meet or exceed daily production goals and expectations as defined within your department work procedures.

Who we are looking for


· Follow all Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.

· Attend all job and safety related training as required.

· Do not operate any equipment, machinery or perform any job task unless you have competed documented training

· Participate in all accident investigations, internal inspections or audits or those conducted by any regulatory agency.

· Do not modify or by-pass any safety-related systems on any equipment or machinery.

· Immediately report any unsafe conditions or unsafe behaviors to your Team Leader, Supervisor or the Department Manager.

· Immediately report any accidents, incidents or near-misses to your Team Leader, Supervisor Department Manager or the Safety Department.

· Complete pre-operational safety checklists prior to operating any equipment or machinery

· Follow work guidance’s to ensure the departmental key performance indicators are being measured and report non-conformances to specification.

· Learn all jobs in the production area to enable job rotation.

· Perform daily job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions or as identified by the Production Team Leader and supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction.

· Participate in daily team meetings and offer ideas/suggestions that contribute to meeting the objectives of the department.

· Check parts for defects and non-conformance and report appropriately in accordance to the control plan and redirect to the appropriate area.

· Ensure proper housekeeping and returning all tools, etc. to the proper storage areas at the end of the shift.

· Immediately report any accident, injury, potential incidences or any unsafe work conditions in the workplace.

· Maintain a clean and orderly work area and report any malfunctioning equipment throughout the shift.

· Record and report all data required to maintain daily production records and submit the data for input into the Decostar data collection system.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Your preferred qualifications

· High school diploma or GED minimum.

· Five years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of GED. Work experience combined with current schooling will be considered.

· Experience within a manufacturing environment required, preferably within an automotive paint shop facility.

· Demonstrate ability to recognize paint quality defects and react/escalate the issues accordingly.

· Understands key paint process characteristics to achieve a repeatable quality part.

· Previous experience with hand spraying within the automotive industry desirable.

· Computer literate, specifically the ability to use Microsoft products and the ability to learn to use proprietary databases.

· Understands concepts of Lean Manufacturing including 5S.

· Demonstrated positive attitude.
