About the Role

This position reports directly to the Materials Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Decostar as described below:

Your Responsibilities

•    To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.
•    Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of Decostar to provide for a safe and healthful workplace.
 

Who we are looking for

•    Participate in continuous improvement programs and activities to ensure meeting of departmental performance objectives (i.e. inventory accuracy, inventory turns, premium freight).
•    Ensure accurate and timely material releases are sent to our suppliers.
•    Purchase and order all recurring and non-recurring items to support Decostar as required by production and assembly departments.
•    Establish lead-time and min/max inventory requirements for on time ordering and delivery in a highly JIT environment.
•    Coordinate production releases with component supplier per supplier agreements.
•    Assist Leaders in reconciling variances and assist in the corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies.
•    Track and record data for Department KOI’s.
•    Must be available for inventory counting whenever company deems necessary (i.e. weekends, holidays, annual physical inventory, etc.).
•    Maintain, follow and update as required all processes assigned to you under the IATF system.
•    Ensure Item Site Planning Records are maintained in the MRP system to ensure accuracy of materials process and to obtain a high confidence level of data accuracy.  
•    Review EDI releases from our customer to ensure accurate material demand is reflective in MRP for our Tier II suppliers.
•    Review Bill of Materials to insure MRP reflects actual process, therefore providing correct inventory consumption levels.
•    Monitor transportation for Tier 2 inbound logistics spend and ensure on-time delivery.
•    Monitor timely receipt of in-coming purchased items for prompt inventory recognition and maintaining accuracy.
•    Responsible for the managing the flow of material both in and out of Decostar on a JIT basis.
•    Manage customer relations from a delivery and material flow basis.
•    Participate in cross function teams to ensure successful program launches.
•    Adjust material shipments as necessary to meet changing customer demands.
•    Strive for continuous improvement of data and report generation with the objective of maintaining inventory accuracy.
•    Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal and external customers and suppliers.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Your preferred qualifications

•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced work environment with scheduling or materials planning responsibility.
•    Minimum of 3 years of experience with QAD (or similar ERP system) including materials management, inventory control, release management, supply chain management.
•    MRP experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
•    Strong organizational skills along with computer expertise with Microsoft Office products.
•    Demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
