Role Summary

This position reports directly to the Molding Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:

 

Key Responsibilities

Exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The Decoma Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.  Exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.  Demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.  Follow Decostar policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook.  Follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.  Meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.  Meet or exceed daily production goals and expectations as defined within your department work procedures.  Report all accidents immediately.  Understand and maintain your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace.  Follow all safety guidelines and usage of all Personal Protective Equipment.  Report any unsafe conditions immediately, including injuries, accidents, illnesses, and property damage.  Cooperate with OSHA/State Osha inspectors.  Make sure you are trained on any machinery or equipment that you are to use.  Do no use, operate or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may endanger any persons, including yourself.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.  Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.  Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.  Immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.  Complete all required safety-related inspections.  Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.

Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely  Repair and maintain all molding equipment and facilities expediently to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment required to maintain uptime goals.  Inspect all machinery for defects and potential problems in accordance with the preventative maintenance program, repairing and replacing parts as required.  Order appropriate replacement parts and fluids through the Maintenance Manager.  Determine reasons for equipment failures and advise managers on corrective and preventive actions to eliminate future downtime.  Fabricate equipment components using welders, milling machines, lathes, and other machine tools as required.  Troubleshoot and repair all electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in the molding department.  Assist in tooling and mode changes as required by the production schedule.  Execute lock out / tag out procedures as required on all molding department equipment and facilities.  Communicate detailed job related information utilizing written and verbal communication forms such as team meetings, work orders, and other related reports.  Assist in the implementation, development and maintenance of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).  Maintain a high departmental standard of cleanliness in the Injection Molding and RIM molding areas.  Perform other duties as directed.

Education, Skills, and Experience

High School Diploma or GED is required

 

  • Six years related work experience.
  • 3 years experience will be accepted if accompanied by an Associates Degree or Technical Diploma in a related field.
  • Must achieve a 71% or better score on Decostar’s skill assessment test.
