BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for developing and compiling financial analysis across Eagle Bend. The Financial Analyst will work closely with both Senior Managers and Business Unit Managers to analyze financial data and explain variances. This position will also take the lead on developing and reporting KPIs both weekly and monthly. Drive common financial reporting across all Business Units, and help champion continuous improvement. The Financial Analyst reports to the Assistant Controller and works closely with Senior Leadership, Business Development, Program Management, Sales, Engineering and other support groups.

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of three to five years of accounting or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Involvement in month end close process including analysis support and journal entries
  • Variance analysis and month end balance sheet accruals
  • Corporate reports for month end/quarter end/forecasts and annual business plan
  • Review and analyze aging data. Report variances to supervisor.
  • Develop reporting and modeling tools that focus on daily, weekly and monthly spending
  • Financial partner with Business Unit Managers and teams
  • Assist in annual five-year plans and quarterly forecast across all Business Units (BUs)
  • Support ongoing CBAs (Quote Document Analysis) with requested cost information for both Business Development and Program Management
  • Assist in the standard cost development primarily for labor and overhead
  • Help champion continuous improvement with action plans with the BUs and other departments
  • Assist in the management of fixed asset reporting
  • Support Program Management and Engineering in completing financial analysis for various manufacturing investment scenarios, including comparison between different machines, equipment and processing
  • Works with Division personnel and Cost Analyst to spot-check accuracy of BOMs and routings. Member of the BOM audit team.
  • Supports both internal and external Financial audits
  • Assists Senior Leadership with other ad-hoc reports and projects

 

SKILLS: Diverse accounting and financial skills. Ability to work closely with all departments at Eagle Bend. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with program management, sales, engineering, plant executives and finance professionals. Is self-directed, willing to learn new processes and applications. Ability to manage and prioritize conflicting demands with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Individual should be extremely well organized, results driven, with the ability to handle diverse assignments concurrently. Strategic thinker with strong analytical/problem solving skills. Strong computer skills including MS Office, Mainframe ERP systems such as SAP, QAD, CMS or other applications. Ability to exercise independent judgement to perform essential duties. Ability to develop instructions and guidelines to perform functions of the job when necessary. Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to present information internally and externally.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: To sit, use hands (to finger, handle or feel), reach with hands and arms, to stand, to talk and hear. In addition, the specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment is mostly sedentary; however, there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED: Personal computers, telephone, facsimile, copier, office equipment.

 

TRAVEL: There is travel required to visit other Magna/Cosma facilities on an occasional basis- ability to fly and drive a motor vehicle is required.
