About the Role

The Hot Stamping Process Engineer will be accountable for efficiency improvement, coordination of the support groups and setting processes and procedures to improve Hot Stamping equipment while integrating new technology.  Will be responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems, procedures and work instructions.  Responsibility for Tooling and related process development either through vendors or internally.  Authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and write cost analysis and proposals for integrating new and current Hot Stamping technology
  • Work together /  coordinate the support groups to improve and repair current equipment  
  • Test ability of machines (such as Robots) to perform tasks
  • Develop operating procedures and resolve systems malfunction
  • Determinate part supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition
  • Develop alternative processing methods for the continuous improvement of quality and manufacturing standards leading to cost reduction
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field
  • Interface with co-workers in other departments such as maintenance, quality and manufacturing to improve technical information and support
  • Develop timing plans and action plan to keep track of manufacturing improvements
  • Capable of developing 8D’s by following root cause analysis
  • Housekeeping and other activities as assigned

Who we are looking for

  • 3 years of Hot Stamping process experience
  • Inventory flow, JIT principles, automotive background preferred
  • Availability to work overtime as required
  • Experience with scheduling preferred; 2-5 years preferred

Your preferred qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, WordPerfect and/or Microsoft Word)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Individual must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to represent Eagle Bend to the customer with the utmost professionalism
  • Individual needs to have a firm understanding of how Hot Stamping process works
  • Understanding of how their decisions affect other departments
  • Managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • This individual will work closely with both production team members and with Quality, Engineering, and Materials, spending a majority of their time directly on the shop floor
