Job Profile

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing Eagle Bend's Information Technology (IT) department including Microsoft Networks, ADP & eTime, Personal Computers, Cell phones and related peripheral equipment in compliance with Magna IT standards


Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the Information Technology team
  • Establish and maintain company standards for hardware and software
  • Provide direction in choosing and implementation of new systems
  • Manage network activities in compliance with Magna IT standards
  • Develop a vendor database to provide support services to the IT department
  • Act as liaison between system users and software providers
  • Work with the leadership team on systems and process upgrades and improvements
  • Ensure proper backup, security, and file maintenance of IT systems
  • Direct necessary system software upgrades & custom program requests as required
  • Manage daily IT tasks and oversee Helpdesk support for system users
  • Provide resources to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for IT system users
  • Ensure system security, data integrity, and control for multiple users of the system
  • Support setup and installation of new equipment and user training related to hardware and software
  • Recommend/purchase hardware, software and support services for IT department
  • Administer employee performance evaluations & enforce company policy in accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter
  • Work with leadership team on annual business plan focused on improvements and IT strategy
  • Help manage Key Operating Indicators (KOI’s) which measure performance to Business Plan, TS16949 standards, government regulations and Mafact compliance
  • Housekeeping and other activities as assigned



Bachelor’s Degree in IT field preferred

Network, Server, and IT related certification preferred

High school graduate or equivalent required


Experience & Abilities

5-7 years of experience in IT / Manufacturing field preferred

Management of mainframe applications in a multi-user environment

Hardware and software troubleshooting experience

Set-up and implementation of data collection programs

SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection), Query, Menu Generation

Experience with all Microsoft Office applications

MRP or MRP II system installation experience

Management of applications in a multi-user environment, set-up and implementation of data collection programs

Assist in the troubleshooting of both hardware and software issues that lead to satisfactory resolution

Management experience related to implementing and managing IT policies

System and product life-cycle management experience

Windows & Linux server security & maintenance experience

Network, storage, virtualization and cloud systems design, architecture and implementation

Familiarity with configuration management tools, processes and procedures

Windows, Server security, maintenance, upgrades, installations, wired and wireless network configuration

Knowledge of both a LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network)

Managing multiple VLAN


Additional skills helpful

  • Individual must have extensive PC and networking knowledge with current windows desktop and server system administration
  • Ability to evaluate system capabilities, install and operate MRP system in a manufacturing environment
  • Individual should have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed with the potential on call during off shift hours
  • Support a wide group of system users across the facility, help resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. may be required
  • Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required
