About the Role
Eagle Bend Manufacturing is currently seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing statistical data collected from Manufacturing, studying trends in conformance to customer requirements and seeking Continuous Improvement opportunities available. Will manage all handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of both material and product paper work instructions plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications. Your Responsibilities
- Develop thorough familiarization with Quality and Environmental Management Systems and manufacturing processes
- Problem-solve using advanced statistical techniques (probability, capability, etc.)
- Interface directly with customer Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing representatives
- Work closely with internal Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing team members
- Audit systems for compliance and Continuous Improvement opportunities
- Seek process improvement and cost reduction opportunities
- Participate in APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) activities
- Participate in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities
- Review control plans and documentation with production, updating where applicable
- Assist with and provide training on Quality Systems, including SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Field associate questions on SPC and customer quality concerns
- Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
Who we are looking for
- 2 – 4 years Quality experience required
- Manufacturing/machine operation, preferably in automotive
- Quality Technician experience
- Statistics
- GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Good people skills
- Technical math skills required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to conduct effective meetings and instructional classes
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Available to work additional hours as needed
Your preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- College-level courses and technical background in quality and/or statistical sciences
- Combination of job experience and education equivalent to four-year degree
- SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
- GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
