Role Summary

Cosma Eagle Bend Manufacturing, a division of Magna International Inc., is hiring an Maintenance Industrial Machine Repair Tech for our Assembly Department. Assembly Maintenance Technician will provide technical support for production and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given to them by the Assembly Maintenance Supervisors and Team Leaders.

Available Shift:

  • 2nd Shift 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm
  • 3rd Shift 10:30 pm - 6:30 am

 

Overtime: Candidates must be available to work Overtime and weekends as needed. Overtime is paid 1.5 and double on Sundays

 

Starting Pay: Pay will differ depending of the Level of Experience. Pay range starts at $29.14 - $35.75 (Pay rate includes $1.00 differential pay for working 2nd or 3rd Shift)

Key Responsibilities

 

Robotic knowledge, inclusive of:

  • Troubleshooting and repair of all associated robotic equipment
  • Interface peripheral equipment
  • Ability to learn new robotic systems

 

Knowledge of PLC’s

  • Programming and interfacing with multiple networks
  • Ability to learn new controls and automated systems
  • Safety plc’s process
  • Knowledge of automated Resistance welding equipment
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Theory and application associated with Press equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems
  • Willingness and ability to learn and maintain new equipment with new technology

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of Press Controls systems
  • Knowledge of automated Resistance welding equipment and MIG (metal inert gas) welding equipment.
  • Knowledge of motion controls and equipment
  • Complete understanding of operation of clutch and brake assemblies. Must be able to disassemble and repair clutch and brake assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic circuit components, electrical control systems, gear, belt, and chain drives.
  • Disassemble and repair shaft bearings and seal assemblies
  • Ability to assist other team members in development of personal skills and growth within the department
  • Install production and support equipment in conjunction with moderate fabrication and rigging in conjunction with Engineering and Production with minimum or no supervision

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • 2 years minimum
  • Course work in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Pneumatic principal and theory
  • Experience in maintaining and improving fully automated assembly equipment 
  • Experience in maintaining and improving Hydraulic and Mechanical Presses and all associated equipment 

 

Training Requirements:

  • Technical training in the following areasHydraulic/pneumatic system maintenance and repair
  • Intermediate to Advance PLC programming and trouble shooting
  • Mechanical power transmission maintenance and repair
  • Combustion gas train maintenance and repair
  • HVAC maintenance and repair
  • Industrial electronics
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Machine tool operation, maintenance and repair

 

Additional Information

Skills:

  • Individual must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others’ safety
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to use precise measuring equipment
  • Excellent teamwork skills required
  • Individual must furnish basic personal tools for use at work
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

 

Equipment/Tools:

  • Hand tools and test equipment
  • Portable welding and grinding equipment
  • Drills, saws, ladders, & machine shop equipment
  • Forklift, genie boom, & overhead crane
  • Precise measuring equipment

 

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to move throughout the plant
  • Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. may be required
  • Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required
