Accountable for the developing capable rollform processes, provide training for operators and technicians, and participate in the APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) process.  Responsibility for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & IS014001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative

Role Summary

Accountable for the developing capable rollform processes, provide training for operators and technicians, and participate in the APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) process.

Key Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibility for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & IS014001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative

1. Provide technical assistance for new product development through part and equipment design, specification and improvements

2. Develop and maintain specifications for roll-form equipment and tooling

3. Vendor interface for development, quoting and trackin

4. Tooling Adjustment for quality

5. Provide operator and technician instruction and training

6. Develop process improvements related to throughput, quality, efficiency, scrap and cost

7. Manage new product and equipment installation and trials

8. Develop and maintain effective process instructions

9. Housekeeping and other duties as assigned

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

EDUCATION:

Indicate the required minimum education one would normally associate with the skill and knowledge level necessary to perform the job.

 
1. Engineering degree or equivalent

 

 

 

 

 

TECHNICAL EDUCATION:

1. Roll-form knowledge

2. Control knowledge

3. Welding knowledge (resistance/laser)

4. Metallurgical knowledge

5. Part print / GD&T knowledge

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Indicate the type of work environment in which the job is performed.

1. Ability to access rollforming equipment to troubleshoot problems

2.Requires continuous standing, climbing, and bending with occasional kneeling,stooping, and crawling;  Lifting up to 30 lbs. frequently.

3. Gross and fine motor use will be required for troubleshooting

4. Visual and audible inspection of machinery required; good hand eye coordination as well.

5. Working environment is usually loud; compliance with personal protective equipment requirements.

6. It is estimated that the position will require about 70% of the time spent on the shop floor training operators and technicians as well as working on Continuous Improvement and Process Development and about 30% of the time spent on new program development.
