Role Summary

Co-Ex-Tec, a division of Magna Exteriors, is hiring a experienced Night Shift Automation Robotics Technician for our Concord location to ensure the continuous operation of all robotic equipment and machinery.  If you have 3+ years of experience on ABB and Fanuc robots, with strong Allen Bradley and Sysmac Studio PLC knowledge and are a results-driven and hands-on individual, we invite you to join our team. THIS IS NOT A JUNIOR ROLE AND ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE CURRENT EXPERIENCE IN A MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT.

Must be available to work the hours of 10:00 pm to 6:00 am Sunday night to Friday morning and Overtime when required

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for modifying existing automation control systems as well as designing, estimating, and commissioning new automation control systems integrated with Robots based on PLC’s
  2. Implement Safety Category 4 for all required installations, presses and robotics work cells
  3. Integrate equipment with robots and various testing and monitoring instruments
  4. Electrical/Controls Design PLC/HMI/Robot programming/troubleshooting, debugging, testing and commissioning
  5. Troubleshoot process problems and initiative and/or participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and quality improvements
  6. Maintain and service automated work cells; mechanical and hydraulic presses
  7. Set up and conduct predictive and preventative maintenance programs for required equipment

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree/diploma in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering PREFERRED
  • MINIMUM 3 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE in manufacturing/industrial setting
  • Electrical License an asset, good knowledge of ON Electrical Code/Electrical Circuits
  • Extensive knowledge in PLC Programming Allen Bradley, Omron (Sysmac Studio), Vision systems, HMI, AutoCAD, Ethernet
  • Experience with:
  • design and integration of machine safety circuits, safety PLC’s and applications (ABB Jokab)
  • motion control architectures preferably around Allen Bradley Kinetix and/or VFD drive systems
  • Data Tracking using Barcode Scanners or RFID
  • Fanuc, ABB, and or Kuka robots an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
