Key Responsibilities

  1. Program software from a remote location within Co-Ex-Tec's manufacturing or from a remote terminal to CAD/Wireframe data or utlizing 1st or 3rd angle drawing or CAD data supplied by the design group
  2. Layout and calibrate fixtures or gauges to defines frequency
  3. Digitize as required both parts and tooling to wire frame data/CAD data
  4. Recommend tolerance schemes including the GDT requirements based on layout data
  5. Reverse Engineer both components and assemblies and recommend tolerance schemes based on the layout
  6. Design both 3 axis holding and SPC/SQC fixtures for electronic probes for existing and new programs and recommend modification when engineering changes occur
  7. Conduct capability studies utlizing Co-Ex-Tec's measuring equipment or devices on both components and assemblies and calculate PPK and CPK requirements
  8. Assist with PPAP submissions as required
  9. Be an active member of the Product Development Team (PDT) on new programs and coordinate phase activities on gates required to support APQP
  10. Digitize tools for both stamping dies or injection tools from CAD data and generate reports to Tooling Engineering
  11. Work with both internal technical groups, outside suppliers and customers on 3 axis measuring equipment layout interpretation and gauge/fixture designs
  12. Review capability studies and gauge R&R studies to decide on measurement methods and SPC data gathering methods of what measuring device should be used, internally and with suppliers and customers.
  13. Incumbent must work of their initative with minimal direction from Manager on methodology to be used but clear direction on scope of each project
  14. Comply with Section 28 of the OSHA
  15. Adhere to all rules and regulations as outlined in the Co-Ex-Tec Employee Handbook
  16. Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures
  17. Any other reasonable requests made by Management

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Technical degree in an Engineering discipline at a minimum
  • 1 year minimum automotive Engineering/Quality Assurance experience
  • Sound knowledge of both PCDEMIS and virtual PCDMIS
  • Understanding of Core Tools in order to conduct internal audits
  • Ability to interpret CAD/Wireframe data, isometric and 1st or 3rd angle drawings on both components and assemblies
  • Excellent knowledge of GDT and its applications for assemblies, components and fixturing
  • 5 years programming on software for various types of measuring equipment (e.g. 3 Axis, White Lights, etc) in an applications technical role
  • Good knowledge of statistis as required in automotive applications
  • Sound knowledge of holding fixture design as regards 3 Axis/White Light and SPC/SQC application
