Role Summary

  • Co-ordinates workers’ activities in accordance with Daily Production Schedule received from the area supervisor/TRANS4M/CMI..
  • Start/stops presses.
  • Ensures all materials are readily available to operators.
  • Organizes sub-components.
  • Ensures production standards are met.
  • Addresses and monitors part flow.
  • Organizes scrap removal.

Key Responsibilities

  •  
  • Must be able to lead team in group problem solving towards continuous improvement.
  • Inventory control / reporting cycle count.
  • Comply with First off/Last off and Tool Tagging instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and work with other departments to solve problems/quality.
  • Housekeeping:  ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Performs a daily inspection as per the Inspection Instruction Sheets on a per-shift basis.
  • Performs receiving inspection as per the Inspection Instruction Sheets for all sub-components consumed in the area.
  • Informs supervisor of defective sub-components.
  • Organizes and labels rejects.
  • Reports Non Conformances to Area Supervisor.
  • This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on an occasional basis.  Ability to climb stairs is necessary.  Good vision at a close distance is required. 
  • Setup all machines/tools as required (ie. First/Last off).
  • Responsible for part quality and has the authority to stop production, if necessary, to correct quality problems.
  • Responsible for proper handling, storage, and disposal of all chemicals, used materials, and equipment.
  • Able to work in a Team environment.
  • Initiate Tooling Work Orders (TWO) as required.
  • Adhere to safe lifting practices.
  • Any other reasonable request made by Management.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations as outlined in the Rollstamp Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures.

  • Participates in C.I. activities
  • Conducts cycle counts.
  • Participates in year-end inventory count.
  • Charts work cell indicators
  • Conduct New Employee training verification.

Skill Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of English verbal and written.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent working experience.
  • Minimum 2-5 years related experience (automotive).
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others.
  • Basic SPC knowledge (test).
  • Operate equipment as required.
  • Analyze defects, gather information, diagnose problems and make decisions.
  • Must be able to work as an effective Team Leader and provide leadership support for production, labour and problem solving.
  • Good communication skills (in English).
  • Be able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
  • Flexible to work shifts.
  • Must be a certified forklift/Reach Truck operator
  • Support process and other activities consistent with departmental expectations and goals.
