Role Summary

Magna Global IT is extending & transforming its Solutions Team to include a new & exciting department for Software Testing Automation
This newly formed departmental manager’s mandate will be:
a)   Formation of the Software Testing Vision/Mandate within MGIT
b)   Formation of the Team
c)   Defining the overall structure & direction of the Team & Service
d)   Define the Strategy
e)   Presenting to Executive Management & Tower Leaders
f)    Design advisory consulting services – testing strategy, business process testing & technical site testing 
g)   Responsible for ensuring that Global Solutions related applications, services and procedures are well supported and properly executed. This includes: 
   -  Vendor supplied Software Testing Applications (testing processes and continuous improvement) project involvement
   -  Focus on Software testing applications
   -  Interact with various functional managers in regard to Software Testing strategies & applications

Key Responsibilities

•  Broad market analysis of Software Testing & Automation Testing solutions/toolsets, and understand Magna’s need for a broad range of functionality for: 
   o Internally hosted Vendor Apps
   o Internally hosted Magna-developed Apps
   o Cloud hosted Apps, i.e:  SAP, Workday, SuccessFactors & others
   o As related to:
     - Testing for new versions/upgrades
     - Regression testing
     - Integration testing
     - Newly generated code
•  Support the testing endeavors of a broad range of business applications which are operated by Global Solutions Application Support
•  Applying AI / Cognitive technologies to achieve Hyper Automation across Test Lifecycle activities
•  Focusing on enriching our tool sets in order to provide accelerated time (upgrade), Optimize/Eliminate efforts & improving Quality 
•  Targeting different activities in a Testing Lifecycle where considerable, repetitive & labor intense human effort is involved 
•  Smart & Progressive automation with easy integration with COTS (Commercial off the shelf) products and optimization with proven techniques and best industry standards
•  Continuous improvements for application support processes
•  Support Continuous testing across our Digital Enterprise
•  Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, keep all internal documentation systems (i.e. OneNote, Application List, etc.) up to date
•  Support for application testing
•  Write training material for defined applications

Knowledge and Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field of study from a recognized IT program

Work Experience

2 years actual experience with Software Testing solutions & concepts
Previously integrated Software Testing technologies into the Business stream of product Upgrades / Launches

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•   Knowledge in the field of administration of WEB applications and databases (MSSQL)
•   Experience with .NET Applications is an advantage
•   Profound MS Office knowledge
•   Basic knowledge in the field of programming of WEB applications
•   Analytical and strong in troubleshooting and problem-solving, familiar with incident support and application development lifecycle
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
•   Ability to work effectively, independently and with others in a collaborative environment
•   Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities
•   Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organization skills
•   Highly organized and detail oriented
•   Energy & thirst for committing to best practices & best solutions yet simplistic methodologies 
•   Ability to prioritize and coordinate work
•   Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
•   Good understanding of process operations 
•   Confident manner
•   A passion and vision for technology
•   Affinity for IT and good technical understanding
•   Able to communicate in German, Mandarin or Spanish are an asset, but not required
