Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensures that bins/boxes of goods, parts, components, scrap, metal rolls and other goods are in the proper location at proper time.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensures scrap and parts bins are always available at each work station.  Follows instructions of Production Supervisor and/or Senor Material Handler.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Loads material/packaging/components onto work cells as required in a timely manner to minimize machine down time.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Keeps lift truck maintained, fuelled and/or charged and in a safe working condition according to specified instructions. Always operates lift truck according to safety procedures.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Keeps in process materials, raw, packaging and components properly organized and easily accessible in designated area.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Verifies counts and part identification of parts in storage containers at the time of removal from the work station.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Always operates lift truck according to safety procedures.  Keeps working area in a clean, tidy and safe manner at all times. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to lift containers/boxes as required (up to 50 lbs).
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to work outside in any weather condition
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Comply with Section 28 of the OHSA.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Basic working knowledge of English, verbal and written
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Grade 12 level education or equivalent years of work experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Basic mathematical skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Limited knowledge of Microsoft office
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must have a valid forklift license        
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Good organizational skills
