Role Summary

This individual will assume responsibility, direction and support for the APQP Launch Team for both prototype and production requirements

Key Responsibilities

•    Coordinate APQP new product launch process internally and externally with the customer
•    Evaluation of the progress of the launch projects
•    Coordinate the specification and procurement of capital equipment, tooling, gauging and personnel for new launches
•    Coordination and implementation of Engineering changes
•    Attends and / or conducts meetings with customer, with respect to design / launch reviews
•    Maintains proper filing systems to ensure all information is properly stored and easily retrieved
•    Prepare business proposals/quotations
•    Undertakes other duties and responsibilities within the Engineering Department, if required by the Engineering Manager
•    Assists in the development of quotations for new work and engineering changes
•    Creation of quality documentation and work instruction for new equipment and tooling
•    Development and maintenance of quality documentation in the area of Process Flow diagrams, PFMEA’s, DFMEA’s, QA Function and Work Instructions
•    Provides Engineering support to other departments within the company as directed by the Engineering Manager
•    Initiates plans and ideas for cost reduction and / or quality improvement measures
•    Responsible for ensuring that the organization is working with the most up-to-date and pertinent engineering drawings, databases and parts list
•    Follows and enforces the guidelines and rules as defined in the Employee Handbook and Company policies
•    On time submission of customer requirements for product launch (PPAP, prototype requirements, volume ramp, etc…)
•    On budget launch of projects
•    High quality submission to the customer (zero launch PR & R’s / QR’s etc…)
•    Overall project performance with respect to OEE, quoted manpower, quoted cycle times and scrap
•    Reporting to Management any perceived deficiencies in a program launch before failure to achieve a target is realized
•     The Program Manager will perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects the Program Manager’s Expectations; P&F’s Visions and Values, and Magna’s Employee’s Charter
•    Follow and abide by all Government, Legal, Magna and P&F’s rules and regulations
•    Perform other duties as requested
•    Be familiar with and follow all regulatory compliance with Magna, Local, State and Federal Legislation including OSHA and ANSI standards
•    Be responsible for ensuring that safe and healthy conditions are met at all locations assigned to this division
•    Be responsible to ensure that there is an understanding of all health and safety rules by all employees
•    Provide accountability for enforcing safety rules and implementing the necessary training and corrective actions to ensure proper focus on established objectives
•    Participate in the formal evaluation process
•    Play an active role in maintaining housekeeping in the area and ensure that department is clean, tidy and organized at all times


Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Engineering Degree/Diploma or Equivalent of minimum 5 years in Mechanical Engineering
•    3-5 years minimum Program Management experience in the automotive industry in a Tier Program role
•    Experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
•    Exceptional organizational and communication skills both verbal and written
•    Able to work flexible hours as required
•    Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
•    Must be able to work in a strictly confidential matter
•    Able to work effectively within a team environment
•    Tooling experience is must
•    Thorough knowledge of TS16949/QS9000, APQP procedures, Quality Engineering, Supplier Management, Blueprint Reading, Advanced Measuring Techniques, Computer Literate
•    Knowledge of GD&T, QFD, Design for Manufacturing, VE/VA, DOE, DFMEA/PFMEA, Floor Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, Quoting Procedures / Contract Review
•    Working knowledge of AUTOCAD / MS Project / Catia
•    WHMIS
•    ISO-14001
•    TS-16949
