La cartera de productos de Magna Exteriors incluye sistemas de acceso como plataformas elevadoras, molduras exteriores, sistemas modulares, módulos frontales que incluyen fascias, sistemas aerodinámicos activos y otros componentes estructurales livianos para automóviles, camiones comerciales y otros mercados industriales.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible to participate in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Magna Exteriors Global Quality Management System that complies with customer and industry quality system requirements within the existing corporate culture.
  • The position has a broad scope of responsibility in the quality arena with focused accountability in customer portal, internal data analysis and KPI achievement.
  • Ensure all divisions are compliant with IATF or other certifications. Provide support as an escalation point for registrar and IAOB or other boards as needed
  • Will foster an environment and lead decision making that results in collaboration and action from key stakeholders including the customer, divisions, global functional leads and the group head office.
  • Will aid in aligning organizational and customer goals, and provide leadership in a way that increases and promotes continuous improvement of the company.
  • Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to the warranty teams. Lead or support robustness in manufacturing process and product design
  • Interface with customer quality representatives concerning problems with product quality and assure and verify that effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support manufacturing plants in resolution of customer quality problems. They will provide on site leadership as needed in developing and implementing the corrective actions and/or auditing those
  • Analyze data and create proposals and feasible action plans to identify future risks and correct negative trends. Use analysis to initiate improvement projects at manufacturing
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Work with Exteriors plants to ensure global standards, quality system implementation and continuous improvement. Tracks the improvement and initiates countermeasures if progress does not meet expectations.
  • Promote a culture focused on actionable ways to identify and reduce cost of poor quality through continuous improvement in the manufacturing plants.
  • Oversee current and future work-load. Works with divisional leadership to ensure the necessary level of resources are available in to support the work load and have proper training and skill set required for success.
  • Develops and executes long-term progressive strategy to ensure the Quality function becomes increasingly proactive in addressing Magna Exteriors manufacturing plant performance issues.
  • Lead regional Quality Manager meetings that promote teamwork, team building, and knowledge sharing among group and across regions.
  • Plan and conduct best practice sharing workshops and foster adoption of creative solutions
  • Support new programs and plants as an expert in QMS standards, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), change management processes, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Internal Audit, Management Review, safe launch planning etc.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives/projects to improve data tracking and performance monitoring.
  • Participate in onboarding process for new key quality personnel at the plants and group office.
  • Ensure read across of lessons learned and best practices by creating and tracking GCARs (Global Corrective Actions and Read across) in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the coordination and reporting of quality metrics to the organization that indicate customer satisfaction and the effectiveness of the quality management systems.
  • Actively participate and add value to Quality Leadership meetings to establish short and long term plans to improve the quality management system.

Qualifications

Education/Special Knowledge/Skills -

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) undergraduate degree or equivalent in a technical discipline is required. Masters degree in business or a technical field is preferred
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft suite of tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point, Share Point, etc. Quick data analysis using excel and executive level presentations will be daily part of the role
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager or Quality Auditor through ASQ or equivalent is preferred.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, Red X or statistical knowledge is desired

Experience -

  • 10+ years of experience in quality assurance roles, including experience as a Plant Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing multiple sites, product lines and customers is desired
  • Working knowledge of automotive industry quality management standards (VDA, AIAG-APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, etc)
  • Self-starting, strong leader with excellent communication skills that have resulted in a successful track record of accomplishment
  • Drive, intelligence, and high personal expectations of getting results both individually and as part of a team.
  • High level of interpersonal and leadership skills with capability to influence, coach, mentor, and partner across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Ability to lead by example, through influence and collaboration is essential.

Physical Demands/Work Environment -

Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Frequent travel required.
