Role Summary

Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all employees and provide support to operations team. All areas as called out on the housekeeping checklist, standard work sheet and support activities as required per below listed duties.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform the tasks on the Housekeeping Checklist.
  2. Run errands as needed for plant.
  3. Provide transportation to Concentra for injured employees, as needed.
  4. Operate the floor scrubber to keep floors clean.
  5. Maintain inventory and distribution of PPE.
  6. Assist with coordination of production floor including MAFACT activities, training of employees and driving best practices.
  7. Follows COVID protocols and job tasks as assigned including cleaning and assisting with employee screenings.
  8. Support and participate in division and department improvement initiatives through Continuous Improvement Suggestion Program, and sharing of knowledge, ideas, and/or best practices with co-workers.
  9. Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including IATF 2016:16949, ISO14001 (EMS), Mafact and Employee Handbook.
  10. Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment) and Lockout.  Reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Leader.

Complies with the designated ISO / 14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management in accordance with MPT’s Environmental Management System (EMS).

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED. Ability to obtain Hi-lo license – requires valid driver’s license. Ability to mop, shovel, scrub and work with cleaning chemicals. Knowledge and compliance of safety procedures and policies. Ability to understand, speak and write English. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and problem solving skills. Team oriented work approach. Ability to work overtime as required. Excellent attendance and performance record. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Demonstrates Core Values. Self-starter who is positive and professional.

Additional Information

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English and correspondence such as safety rules and operating instructions.  Ability to document forms as required by position.  Able to communicate in English effectively, (read and write). Strong communication (oral and written) skills.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS400 and ability to use bar code labeling system.

Reasoning Skills:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, speak, listen and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
