Group Description 

 

This position will be a part of a new start-up Joint Venture Seating JIT Assembly plant located in the Detroit, MIchigan.

Role Summary

Under the direction of the Launch Manager, the Launch Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of company training programs, and the maintenance of company training systems.

Key Responsibilities

•    Manage the Learning Management System (PeopleQuest): system administrator & user support.
•    Maintain the Knowledgebase: creating and organizing pages and making requested updates.
•    Provide leadership team with associated KPIs and data related to training process compliance.
•    Communicate cross-departmentally and coordinate support teams with their updates and contributions to the bigger projects that we are leading – LMS system, Internal Bench Leadership Pipeline, and Knowledgebase user experience design and development are current examples.
•    Maintain and coordinating training schedule for Core team members.
•    Assist with training content in the form of documents, videos, graphics, etc.
•    Participate in training projects to create efficiencies within the organization.
•    Ability and desire to take on other assignments as needed.
•    Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects LM Expectations, LM’s Visions/Values through LM’s Employee Charter.
•    Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and LM rules and regulations.
•    Follow and abide by all government, Legal and LM rules and regulations.
•    Establishes and maintains training policies and procedures to support the development of Team Members in compliance with Company standards, ISO/TS 16949 and HR audits
•    Follow environmental protocol as prescribed by the Environmental Management System (EMS).
 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
•    Schedule and maintains training systems including training records, training calendar.
•    Collects and reports on training metrics (training costs, hours of training, budget, etc.)
•    Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction of training activities.
•    Liaises within production to coordinate training program delivery.
•    Assists with development and facilitation of in-house training programs to support company initiatives.
•    Assesses training needs and sources appropriate courses, instructors, and training facilities.
•    Evaluates course effectiveness.
•    Sets up training and workshops, prepares training materials and training documentation.
•    Liaises with other divisions for training needs, opportunities, and resources.
•    Facilitating of the:
•    Core team training efforts
•    OJT Train-the-Trainer processes
•    Creating and delivering training packages and tools to core team members
•    Work directly with Sr. Leadership and development Specialists
•    Perform other duties as designated.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Excellent organizational skills
•    Excellent computer skills – Advance Powerpoint and Excel experience
•    Ability to work in a team environment


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•    The training coordinator works in both an office environment as well as a manufacturing environment. Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending. Able to work shift work. Able to be flexible in hours (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.).
EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:
•    Some of the equipment and tools used are computer, Training Software, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, and a projector.


EDUCATION:
•    Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
•    2+ years related experience in manufacturing/production environment.
•    Automotive sector - Production Facilities


WORK EXPERIENCE:
•    2 years’ Experience as a Trainer in a Manufacturing Environment
•    2 years’ Experience in an Administrative role
•    Minimum 1-2 years’ Experience in World Class Manufacturing

SAFETY AND HOUSEKEEPING:
•    Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the O.H.S.A.
•    Follow and ensure the company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
•    Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to LM’s safety rules and regulations.
•    Active role in maintaining excellent housekeeping through leading by example.
•    Ensure that your department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.
•    As with Safety, Security is everyone’s responsibility and LM requires its employees to contribute to this activity by immediately notifying your supervisor when you identify security issues that affect the integrity of our company.

Additional Information

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Work performed in an office and manufacturing plant environments.  The Human Resource Coordinator may sit comfortably to perform the work. Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, occasional stooping and bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts and driving an automobile. Must be able to work flex time in order to cover all two shifts. Frequently performs fine finger movements, grips/grasps, push/pulls, bends/stoops, and lifts and carries parts up to thirty (30) lbs.  Must be available to work any shift as well as weekends and holidays as needed.
