Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. About the Role

Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects and program launches within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Your Responsibilities

  • Liaison responsibility between manufacturing, engineering, and the customer
  • Plans and formulates program and organizes project staff according to project requirements.
  • Leads or assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, product testing, APQP documentation, financial analysis, process development, component sourcing, tool construction, program quoting, defect analysis and problem resolution, project timing, prototype and pilot build support, and packaging development.
  • Ensures that product design reviews for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications are completed.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Manages integration of technical activities and products.

Who we are looking for

  • Demonstrated ability to carry out projects, broad in nature, from beginning to end in coordination with internal and external contacts.  Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills to prioritize, coordinate projects, manage conflicting needs, and deal with many issues at one time.  Must be able to work independently under little or no supervision. 
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts and represent the Company in a professional manner when performing job duties.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills to exercise influence at various levels and functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and recommend new product/process program enhancements and participate in and initiate implementation of continuous improvement processes.
  • Understands injection molding and tooling.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
