Role Summary

This role is for a greenfield facility that will be located in Lawrenceburg Tennessee. The purpose of the Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist – Ergonomics is to initiate, implement, analyze, report-on, and oversee all ergonomic programs for the company. The HSE Specialist will help MST  (Magna Structures Tennessee) in achieving the goals and objectives set forth for the Magna Ergonomics program.

Key Responsibilities

The HSE Specialist – Ergonomics will drive and implement the company ergonomic program at MST. The HSE Specialist is responsible for ergonomic assessments, reports, job improvements, and training.

 

  • Anticipation, Recognition, Evaluation, Prevention and Control of conditions which could result in illness or injury in the workplace. 
  • Provide recommendations for job modifications and monitor implementation of the improvements.
  • Provide technical support to all plant functions and operations as it relates to ergonomics.
  • Interpret injury/ illness data for all ergonomic-related incidents.
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure new equipment, machinery, packaging, etc. have been assessed appropriately during new program launches.
  • Devise, supervise, and coordinate ergonomic training programs and new hire orientations.
  • Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial and System Engineering; or equivalent in years of experience and education.
  • Minimal 5-10 years in automotive manufacturing and ergonomics, including environmental, health & safety compliance.
