About the Role

This is a greenfield facility being built in the Ethridge/Lawrenceburg area and we are beginning to hire our Press Operating Team Members.  This is a day shift position.
 

Your Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep the press machines running efficiently and in accordance with production schedule. Performs routine operational tasks. 
Ensure the press is set up to company standards, including proper die setup, to produce high-quality parts consistently. Ensures that all parameters are set up in accordance. 
Monitor the production process to verify that all parts meet quality specifications and standards. Ensure a quality product (measuring tools, part inspection and fixtures) and know and understand the quality procedures.
Performs MP&L duties such as labeling, following packing instructions, scanning. 
Responsible for meticulously packaging parts and ensuring that only components meeting all quality specifications are approved and packed. 
Supports and performs production reconciliation. Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production output, and any issues encountered, ensuring proper documentation for traceability and reporting.
Act as the first responder to operational issues, troubleshooting problems promptly and calling the appropriate support departments as needed. Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and quality control departments to resolve any issues affecting production.
Must strictly adhere to all established press shop procedures, ensuring consistent application of safety protocols, operational guidelines, and quality control measures to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
Maintain accurate paperwork/production reports.
Assist with developing procedures such as: set-up procedures, production procedures, 5S procedures, standardized work. 
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Ability to follow standard work instructions, quality procedures, JES sheets, and customer specifications. 
Assist in training and mentoring new operators and Level I operators, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team performance.
Fill in for Press Shop Operator Level I as required, performing their duties to maintain smooth production flow.
Effectively communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and any changes in procedures or standards.
Perform other duties as required.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to maintain concentration and operational efficiency despite press shop environment. 
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and endurance.
Must be vigilant and adhere to strict safety protocols to mitigate risks associated with operating heavy machinery and working in close proximity to various equipment.
Proficient in setting up and operating press machines, including die setup and machine adjustments.
Strong understanding of quality standards and procedures, with experience in inspecting and verifying parts against quality specifications.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in machine setup and quality control processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and support departments.
