Your New Role

Quality Engineering is required to work with all departments on the development of new products and maintain and improve current products in order to meet customer and IATF 16949 requirements.  This includes all quality related aspects of PPAP, prototype and ongoing product development.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Post-secondary graduate with a technical diploma or a certificate in Quality Engineering (CQE)
  • Minimum of 5 years automotive experience as a Quality Engineer 
  • Prior experience with ISO/IATF16949 processes
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process submissions, GD&T, Flow Diagrams, FMEA’s, Control Plans, Statistics, and fixture development
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis using various problem solving techniques 
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic statistical tools and basic measurement tools (height gauge, Vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, etc)
  • Must comply with recognized corrected levels of vision as per customer requirements
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel to USA, Mexico and overseas on short notice for business meetings and/or training

As a Quality Engineer, You Will

  • Work with cross-functional teams on Advanced Product Quality Planning and in the development of new/existing products
  • Coordinate customer quality events and ensure professional long term relationships are met and maintained
  • Coordinate, prepare and implement new/current program fixtures/gauges builds
  • Actively participate in the PFMEA’s development
  • Prepare and update the Control Plan documentation and Control Cards
  • Plan and prepare PPAP submissions on new/modified products
  • Evaluate quality issues facilitating and reporting results of 8D meetings
  • Organize and follow-up with third party sorting, if required
  • Participate in training of team members when necessary
  • Prepare and update daily review DMR and initiate actions based on findings
  • Review dimensional reports, perform statistical studies, report data and facilitate problem solving
  • Create/update Procedures, SWI, and Visual Aids
  • Follow-up daily on customer websites and update as required
  • Conduct audits, LPA 
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality while managing customer sensitive documents
  • Responsible for and assist in IATF 16949/MAFACT implementation and compliance
  • Participate in plant wide continuous improvement projects
  • Follow and comply with Operational Procedures/Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (IATF 16949/MAFACT, ISO 14001 etc)
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Office environment but may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant
