Role Summary

 

The responsibility of the "Architect - Hardware" on Vehicle Level is to define the overall vehicle E/E Hardware Architecture 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Defines HW architectural strategy on vehicle level 
  • Defines the architectural designs as base for component architectures 
  • Addresses overall hardware related Cyber Security Aspects 
  • Addresses overall hardware related Functional Safety Architectural Aspects 
  • Evaluates alternative hardware architectures 
  • Ensures correct dynamic behavior 
  • Ensures HW provides sufficient power resources 
  • Establish bidirectional traceability: Requirements - Architectural design 
  • Ensures energy efficient design of the E/E Architecture 
  • Ensure consistency 
  • Integrate cross functional requirements 
  • Communicate agreed Hardware architectural design 
  • Defines hardware integration strategy 
  • Optimizes cost, weight modularity and scalability 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Expertise in control units from µC to SoCs 
  • Understanding of vehicle wiring and data connections 
  • Understanding of automotive communication protocols 
  • understanding of power electronics on relevant voltage levels 
  • Expertise in Radio frequency and EMC 
  • Functional Safety incl. Impact on Components and Architecture 
  • Cyber Security incl. Impact on Components and Architecture 
  • Expertise in Automotive HW engineering process 
  • Understanding of automotive industry standards 

Special Skills/Knowledge

 

  • Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)  
  • Excellent Professional Communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Strong spoken and written English language skills 
  • Teamwork and social skills 
  • High internal and external service orientation 
  • Excellent creativity, initiative, diligence and accuracy  
  • Willingness and ability to acquire new skills  
  • Analytical and flexible approaches in projects 
  • Must be able to travel internationally on an occasional basis
