Similar to various sectors and areas of technology, the increasing trend towards digitization and its integration in the vehicle is also continuing in the automotive industry. With regard to the operating systems in modern cars, this development is leading more and more to the disappearance of ordinary switches and buttons.

For our Engineering Center Austria in Graz/Austria, we are looking for a student to work on a bachelor/master thesis "End-customer oriented investigation and evaluation of UI/UX display strategies for the car sector with subsequent creation of a UI/UX benchmarking display concept". The aim of the thesis is to research and question the current state of the art regarding this topic. Subsequently, a concept for future UI/UX display benchmarks shall be developed, digitized and visualized via VR (Virtual Reality).

Your Tasks

Literature research of UI/UX systems in the automotive field
- General research on UI/UX in vehicles
- Currently used operating systems
- Current and future display strategies
- Benchmarking of existing UI/UX display strategies
- Program evaluation for the digitization of the UI/UX display benchmarking concept
Design, creation and digitization of a UI/UX benchmarking display concept with subsequent visualization using VR (Virtual Reality)
Documentation of the entire scope of work including conclusion and recommendation

Your Profile

Ongoing technical master's degree (FH/TU)
Initial experience in form of internships and study projects would be an advantage
Basics in the field of vehicle electronics and complete vehicles
Knowledge & experience in the area of operating concepts of smart devices and displays
Knowledge in Protopie & Figma advantageous
Team- and communicational skills

The minimum salary stipulated in the collective agreement is between € 450 and € 700 gross per month (14 x p.a.) on the basis of a bachelor's/master's thesis. Depending on your education and specific work experience, there is a corresponding willingness to overpay!
