Position Overview


This position is responsible to research, analyze and report user experience related technology trends in the automotive industry. The responsibility includes (but not limited to) comprehensive analysis of the technology trends, identify applicable strategies, and overview the impacts on auto industry and Magna. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Understand, identify, and investigate technologies that can enhance user experience in vehicle products, focusing on technologies combining automotive engineering and IoT (Internet of Things).   
  • Investigate strategies of auto-manufacturers with respect to business models through digital transformation and differentiations on features & functions of vehicle products. 
  • Research relevant technologies, features & functions, use cases, and business models introduced by new entrants and start-up companies. 
  • Research emerging demands related to Factory of the Future. This includes – but is not limited to – the Building Blocks of Industry 4.0, as Big Data & Analytics, Cloud Computing, Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality, Cybersecurity, Robotics, IoT and Simulation. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert on user experience technology, providing clear, precise trends and timely information. 
  • Interpret and analyze emerging industry-wide trends and its impact to the greatest extent possible. 
  • Research, prepare and present overview summaries of the trends and topic-specific analyses to facilitate understanding of the impact on automotive product, with special emphasis on relevance to Magna operating units.  



  • Must have a high level of professionalism to support senior management team 
  • Must be able to work in global team-based environment 
  • Must be a highly analytical thinker to analyze wide-ranged data/information from various sources 
  • Must be able to summarize complicated, detailed information in a concise, understandable format 
  • Must be self-motivated to complete assignment and be able to independently manage projects 



  • Degree in Engineering or related field (MINT)  
  • Minimum 5 years on technology/product development and/or project management in either technology industry or automotive industry  
  • Experience on automotive applications in technology company is a significant plus 
  • Proven work record in the area that requires comprehensive understanding about automotive technology and markets is a plus 

Special Knowledge/Skills


  • Must be a good team player 
  • Must have a high level of communication skill 
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office incl. high level skills on PowerPoint and Excel 

Work Environment


Must be able to travel both domestic and international (less than 20% travel)
