JOB SUMMARY:
1. Project Engineering:
a. Assists the engineering department with planning, organizing, controlling, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Assists with technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, technical plans, and product testing.
2. Manufacturing Engineering:
a. Assists the manufacturing engineering department in the resolution of manufacturing issues and support to implement new products into production and in the resolution of manufacturing issues. Assists engineers with process design functions to determine product flow through the manufacturing cell by use of current engineering and continuous improvement techniques. Assists engineers with analyzing various product structures and processes in order to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs. Assists engineers with Design of Experiment (DOE) analysis to determine optimum operating parameters to achieve the most efficient cell.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists engineers in assigned engineering department.
2. Complete engineering reports, analysis, and graphs.
3. Update documents to reflect changes or updates.
4. Provide hands-on support in respective engineering department (i.e., building parts, gaging parts, designing work flow, evaluating ergonomics flow, and troubleshoot manufacturing issues)
5. Assists with monitoring and controlling costs, timing, and other related aspects of projects.
6. Performs other duties as necessary.
7. Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace. Cooperate with OSHA inspectors. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Follow all safety rules. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately. Will not remove or make ineffective any protective device such as a guard, light curtain, etc. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment that the employee is not trained to operate. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment in a manner that may endanger any employee including themselves.
8. Understands and follows existing Magna policies, procedures, work instructions and standards and makes recommendations for continuous improvements.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering or related field with strong desire to understanding of engineering practices, principles, processes, etc.; or equivalent.
2. Previous work experience in a fast-pace team environment is preferred.
3. Demonstrates ability to conceptualize, coordinate, integrate internal data, and clearly articulate concepts, ideas, and other issues relating to engineering.
4. Demonstrates ability to carry out projects from beginning to end in coordination with internal and external contacts and work on moderate to long-term assignments which are broad in nature.
5. Strong organizational, written and communication skills and able to deal with many projects at one time.
6. Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to operate standard and specialized equipment/tools related to the job. Ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, present information, etc.
