Role Summary
This position is for a new greenfield facility that will be located in the Greater Memphis, Tennessee area. Under the general direction of the Purchasing Manager, the MRO Buyer works independently and confers regularly with division and supplier staff specialists. The MRO Buyer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and investigating potential new suppliers as well as current suppliers for the division. They are responsible for the MRO crib and all operations including ordering, organization, and planning. They will process Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and Requests for Quote. The MRO buyer will assist/work with various departments within the division to ensure all Maintenance and Facility requirements are met. The MRO Buyer manages the process of sourcing suppliers, MRO Items, services, and all other non-production items from suppliers based upon best overall value.
Key Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
Actively participate in review meetings to ensure the successful launch of new products, processes, and tools as required
Work with all departments to ensure MRO crib is effectively utilized
Expedite/follow up on requirements as necessary
Analyze supplier quotations and award purchase orders/contracts
Ensure timely delivery of acceptable quality goods and services to meet the needs of the division
Work with suppliers to effectively resolve delivery issues in a timely manner for MRO consumables and supplies
Coordinate, control, and follow-up all goods returned for credit, repair, or replacement
Establish and communicate supplier lead times, optimum lot sizes, packaging, shipping parameters, and any other purchasing parameters as necessary
Assist other departments with consumable inventory practices to reflect cost savings for the division. Monitor effectiveness and revise as required.
Coordinate/schedule completion of supplier surveys as required
Identify, plan, and develop projects which reflect continuous improvement and offer cost savings to the division
Work with corporate purchasing in supplying requested information, participation in meetings, conference calls, roll out of corporate initiatives, etc.
Keeps work area clean and tidy
Understands, utilizes, and submits suggestions for improvement to departmental procedures
Establish and maintain a high level of communication and effective working relationships with suppliers and peers
Complies with, supports, and models the Magna Structures Tennessee LLC. operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna’s Employee Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles
Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001)
Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
Conducts themselves in a professional manner
Key Qualifications/Requirements
EDUCATION:
• College/University degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Business discipline and/or equivalent work experience
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• A valid Driver’s License is required for day travel with the occasional overnight stay
• A valid passport which allows the MRO Buyer to travel to attend potential supplier meetings is necessary.

Additional Information
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
Assist in the supervision and training of the workers assigned to MRO crib duties
Maintain document control of purchase orders to ensure audit trails are in place and meet financial and procedural requirements
Maintains vendor and product information files and provides division with MRO related information
Maintain up to date service contracts and records
Maintain up to date MRO purchasing files
Review service contracts, rental and maintenance agreements, renegotiate, award and/or renew as required
Negotiating optimum pricing, terms, and timely procurement of MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) consumables and supplies
Reconcile variances between purchase orders and invoices
Requests cycle counts as required with applicable follow up and problem solving for MRO components
