Role Summary
This position is for a new greenfield facility that will be located in the Greater Memphis Tennessee area. Under the direction of the engineering manager, the Process Engineer will provide technical processing expertise to all applicable areas of the division. This position is responsible for driving process standards in the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Manages large scale projects from inception to completion (timing, concept, feasibility, design, PFMEA’s, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off (PPAP and run at rate), prototype programs, and engineering changes) with minimal follow-up by leadership.
Conducts appropriate Manpower efficiency studies – through time and motion studies or standard data. Line balancing workforce, machine charts and analysis
Prepares reports, charts and other documentation required for engineering records and projects
Works with all departments and customers to design solutions that improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and maintenance related issues
Supports continuous improvement initiatives
Assists in developing material handling logistics (i.e. - Aisle layout, bin placement, dunnage assists, etc.)
Reviews, monitors and co-ordinates tooling design, build, approval process and capital budgets
Supervises equipment relocation and installation to Magna Structures Tennessee LLC.
Assists in setting up preventative maintenance program and spare parts for new equipment.
Assists in resolving quality, operational, production and maintenance concerns
Reviews, co-ordinates and implements all customer approved engineering changes, including part level communication updates, physical part update, process sheet update, physical tooling change, etc.
Knows and understands process documentation and customer specific requirements as they relate to this job function
Assists in development and improvement of packaging methods for new and existing programs including bin and dunnage selection or modification.
Update current and prepare plant layout drawings with modifications to the existing lines and installations of new lines and processes.
Supports new business quoting process with packaging recommendation including pack densities and design concepts for custom racks as well as plant layout drawings showing new lines and processes location.
Additional projects and responsibilities as required.
Maintain accurate documentation resulting in shared knowledge of issues and lessons learned.
Troubleshoot and train others on identifying root causes of equipment failures. Ensure that line is built in accordance with all aspects of the latest version of the build standards.
Utilize good working knowledge of all technologies used in the development and build of automated assembly lines. Execute equipment efficiency studies, through time and motion studies, or standard data to ensure effective line balancing.
Work to achieve Company goals, objectives as communicated by divisional leadership.
Keeps work area clean and tidy.

Key Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and at least a 2-year degree from an accredited technical college or post-secondary school with emphasis on Robotics.
Fanuc DCS Certification
5+ years’ experience with processing and PLC control systems in a welding process environment, preferably in an industrial automotive setting.
Experience with AutoCAD, CAD viewer programs.
Familiar with Advanced Product Quality Planning methods.
Familiarity with Engineering and Quality practices and procedures including PPAP, blueprint reading, GD&T, use of measuring instruments, checking aids/fixtures, mechanical testing, etc.
Experience/knowledge in robotic programming for welding processes (Fanuc programming an asset).
Knowledge of weld standards and specifications.
Knowledge of AWS and RWMA standards.
Advanced math skills with the ability to apply to cost and analyze data.
Computer skills in Microsoft office suite.
