Role Summary

This position reports directly to the Shift Manager or his/her designee and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of as described below:

General Job Duties

  • To exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The MAGNA Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.

  • Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.

  • To support all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
  • To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal, external customers and suppliers.

Specific Job Duties & Requirements

  • Follow all Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Attend all job and safety related training as required.
  • Do not operate any equipment, machinery or perform any job task unless you have competed documented training
  • Participate in all accident investigations, internal inspections or audits or those conducted by any regulatory agency.
  • Do not modify or by-pass any safety-related systems on any equipment or machinery. 
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions or unsafe behaviors to your Team Leader, Supervisor or the Department Manager.
  • Immediately report any accidents, incidents or near-misses to your Team Leader, Supervisor Department Manager or the Safety Department.
  • Complete pre-operational safety checklists prior to operating any equipment or machinery
  • Perform assemblies and other job functions per work guidance sheets. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and activities.
  • Report any accident, injury, or near miss to the Shift Manager immediately and report any unsafe work conditions in the workplace.
  • Strive to meet or exceed departmental performance objectives on a daily basis as directed by the Shift Manager.
  • Perform all work within the guidelines of the control plan to ensure parts quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean work area and report malfunctioning equipment to the Production Manager on a daily basis.
  • Return all tools to proper storage area at the end of the shift.
  • Record and report all data required to maintain daily production records and submit the data to the Shift Manager for input into the data collection system.
  • Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager (or his/her designee Production Group Leader, Production Team Leader, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively along with basic mathematical skills required.
  • Previous assembly experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing and/or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on a occasional basis, and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulder on an occasional basis.
