The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and project management of various mechanical design projects including, but not limited to, assembly equipment, paint tooling, moulding EOATs, packaging, material conveyance solutions, and customer product design.

Day shift with the ability to work flexible hours, off-shift and weekends as required.

Your Responsibilities

- Deliver complete solutions to internal customers to support new launch and CI mechanical design requirements.
- Design a complete solution from an initial requirement to executing the design into a working solution.
- Utilize in-house fabrication, CNC, additive manufacturing, assembly, as well as outsourced mechanical components. 
- Manage design projects through the Engineering Services Application, maintain accurate and detailed documentation.
- Track projects and manage budgets.
- Manage importing, translating, and sending customer math data.
- Provide training support and mentoring to Coop Design Students.
- Other duties as assigned
 

Who we are looking for

- Technical Degree/Diploma or relevant experience in the field required.
- Previous experience in mechanical design, preferably in an automotive environment. 
- assembly equipment, paint tools, EOATs, weldments, sheet metal design, packaging and/or product design.
- Knowledge of best practices; Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and Mechanics of Materials.
- Understanding of fabrication, welding, sheet metal bending, additive manufacturing, CNC, and mechanical hardware.
- Proficient in CAD Design Software, NX/Solidworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem solving skills to deal with issues as they arise. 
-Time management skills with ability to manage a heavy workload.
- Must be able to work in Microsoft Office environment (Excel, Word, Project)
