El grupo de Mechatronics, Mirrors y Lighting se especializa en tecnologías automotrices que impulsan el futuro de la movilidad. Combinando un profundo conocimiento de sistemas para desarrollar experiencias únicas de acceso a vehículos, sistemas de visión inteligentes y tecnologías avanzadas de iluminación automotriz, la experiencia de MML ilumina el camino hacia la innovación, la seguridad y el estilo.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the quoting, design, and manufacture of assigned new moulds, End of Arm Tools, and coating/metalizing tooling.
- Manage outsourced and in house engineering changes, including quoting, internal approvals and coordination of timing plan.
- Manage outsourced and in house tool repairs, including quoting, internal approvals and coordination of timing plan.
- Provide daily operational support for any tool related issues and track those repairs or modifications are being completed in a timely manner.
- Support all trials until the tooling has been approved by Production through our PTR process. This includes helping to develop a baseline and supplying all relevant information such as moulding material processing sheets, mould flow results, etc.
- Attend all PDT meetings and manufacturing reviews specific to your assigned programs.
- Maintain complete issues lists for each mould, EOAT, fixture, etc., that falls under your responsibility.
- Help develop and maintain our Mould Build Standards, EOAT Standards, Metallization Tooling Standards, and Hardcoat/Antifog Tooling Standards.
- Track and implement cost savings as per established Magna Lighting targets.
- Actively pursue opportunities and reduce cost and cycle times.
- Work with Design and Manufacturing engineering to ensure new product designs are optimized for the production floor and that designs allow for robust tooling and processes.
- Travel to the tooling suppliers to review build status during manufacture and attend trials.
- Develop and implement all required work instructions for degating, packaging, coating, and any specialized piece of equipment required for any of your programs.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 year Technologist diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 2 years minimum experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Environment would be an asset.
- The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Excellent interpersonal skills. The role requires working with all disciplines within Autosystems as well as external suppliers.
- Ability to communicate technically to various departments within the organization and to external suppliers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Proficient reading design drawings and blue prints, including a basic knowledge of GD&T.
- Able to work flexible work hours, including unscheduled overtime when necessary.
