Role Summary

Logistics Coordinator acts as main contact and interface between Magna Seating personnel and supply chain vendors, carriers and brokers. The Logistics Coordinator will be involved in all facets of the supply chain as related to inbound material and outbound finished goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor supply chain on a daily basis to ensure freight is moving as scheduled; proactively address delays and issues with carrier, vendor, Magna team members
  • Alert Magna team members of supply chain occurrences/disruptions as proactively as possible (i.e., weather delays, border closings, protests, regional/national holidays, etc.)
  • Creation of weekly inbound schedule for Magna Receiving (with coordination from Material Planning Team)
  • Distribution of weekly schedule to carriers
  • Issuance of Routing Instructions to all suppliers where Magna is freight responsible
  • Planning and execution of all expedites/premium freight moves
  • Conduct RFQs at scheduled intervals (i.e., every other year) or as new lanes arise
  • Conduct (at a minimum) quarterly business reviews with core carriers to maintain service level, discuss issues, go over key metrics
  • Provide required monthly KPIs as related to freight/ logistics costs (i.e., CPV, premium freight, monthly spend)
  • Actively pursue supply chain optimizations and present them to Materials Manager/Planner to determine feasibility

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • A technical undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Five (5) years minimum demonstrated experience with Kaizen/Lean principles in automotive manufacturing
  • Focused experience with Material Conveyance in launching environment of a high-complexity product
