Role Summary
Key Responsibilities

Designs, builds, and qualifies automated assembly equipment

Evaluates and estimates production time, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Influences and impacts part design related to Design for Assembly, error proofing, fixture design, torque strategy development and incorporating quality improvement measures.

Is able to perform the necessary proof of concept using DOE methods, and validation testing to ensure that the product meets costumer requirements.

Understanding of GD&T, datum dimensioning and tolerance stack-ups.

Manages Manufacturing Engineering projects to scope, on time and within budget requirements.

Develops and maintains quality process documentation, including Process Flow diagrams, PFMEA's, Standard Work Instructions and Set-up sheets.

Provides engineering support for plant operation. Troubleshoot daily production problems using root cause analysis methods as they occur.

Creates and revise equipment, tooling, and gage drawings.

Facilitate communication between departments.

Manages product engineering change implementation as they occur.

Assists with instruction and training of employees to achieve company goals.

Provide technical direction within the department.

Provides guidance for production workers, technicians, and interns.

Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; or equivalent. Demonstrated basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and other current techniques related to manufacturing engineering.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills in order to communicate with other functional areas both internally and externally for successful completion of projects.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to influence decisions that affect assigned projects.
