Role Summary

Quality Engineer wanted in Holland, Michigan to plan, support, and implement total quality programs as they related to Engineer Glass products.

 

  • Design, specify, and install quality control sampling systems, testing mechanisms, and equipment;
  • Formulate and assist in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards;
  • Monitor and control costs, timing, and other related aspects of projects;
  • Serve as a liaison and coordinate activity of internal and external resources;
  • Serve as a resource by providing a problem solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential quality problems;
  • Assist internal and external contacts to resolve product and process problems;
  • Investigate and solve manufacturing-related problems in assigned area using formal problem-solving tools;
  • Analyze and develop suppliers products to obtain maximum productivity and reviews performance in operation and provides suggestions for improvement;

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion continuous improvement efforts;
  • Research, recommend, implement and administer new and/or existing quality assurance processes;
  • Engage in comparative and competitive analysis to ensure utilization of most appropriate and beneficial techniques in each situation respectively;
  • Define scope, plan, organize, and direct technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities for new and existing programs;
  • Monitor and control costs, timing, and other related aspects of projects. Develops cost quotations related to specifications, test equipment, and gauge requirements and communicates information to appropriate parties;
  • Use lean manufacturing tools such as GD&T, 8D, Kaizen, 5Why and Fishbone to conduct quality analysis;
  • Conduct quality assurance using PFMEA, CP and PPAP processes;
  • Analyze engineering drawings; conduct quality analysis of automotive mirror products;
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 6 months of related experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Technician, or Quality Inspector.
    • Of the 6 months of related experience, 3 months must include: using lean manufacturing tools such as GD&T (Geometric and Dimension Tolerance), 8D, Kaizen, 5Why and Fishbone to conduct quality analysis; experience conducting quality assurance using PFMEA, CP and PPAP processes; ability to read and understand engineering drawings and PPAP processes.
    • The 6 months of related experience must also include 1 to 3 months of experience in conducting quality analysis of automotive mirror products.

Additional Information

  • 40 hours per week; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; M-F,
  • $72,000.00 per year
