Role Summary

Under the general supervision of the Materials Manger and with direction from Engineering team during initial program launch, the Logistics Project Lead manages divisional plan for every part (PFEP), Value Stream, Conveyance, and utilizes lean tools to analyze and recommend operational improvement opportunities within the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee PFEP and Manage as a living document
  • Develop, manage, audit & continuously improve: Value Stream Maps (VSM), Plant Layout, Dock Utilization, Trailer Logistic of sub-assembled components, & Dunnage Management
  • Work with Material planners to set up supplier delivery windows (frequency, quantity, mix, etc.)
  • Design, Implement & Continuously Improve Warehouse/Supermarket Layout (including rack maps, labels, etc.)
  • Develop & Manage Divisional VSM (Dock to Warehouse to Line)
  • Design, Implement, validate, audit & continuously improve all conveyance systems: FIFO, Kanban, Sequencing (including empty dunnage)
  • Oversees Logistic team members and their area of focus on:
  • Internal & External Packaging and PAD documents
  • Job Element Sheet (JES), Process Flow and PFMEA for conveyance processes
  • Lineside Material Presentation

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • A technical undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Five (5) years minimum demonstrated experience with Kaizen/Lean principles in automotive manufacturing
  • Focused experience with Material Conveyance in launching environment of a high-complexity product
