Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, responsible for all aspects of the Materials Warehouse. Plans, directs and coordinates activities including safety, quality, productivity and employee relations. Oversees Materials Supervisors for all business units.
- Supervises Materials Supervisors; resolve downtown
- Always ensure proper staffing
- Creates purchase requisitions, work orders, etc.
- Audits Materials Warehouse
- Generates & implements warehouse improvements in safety, efficiency, inventory, etc.
- Develops & maintains Job Evaluation Sheets (JES).
- Develops & tracks internal key measurements for performance.
- Participates & leads process improvement projects
- Ensures all policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are consistently followed
- Collaborates with the Department and HR Managers in the administration of disciplinary action
- Ensures Material Supervisors are timely recording Attendance and Time-Off Policies
- Ensures all required training is recieved
- Ensures thorough & timely performance reviews
- Complies with HSE standards, Employee Charter, the OSHA and MIOSHA
- Minimum of five (5) years of materials supervisory experience in a tier-one automotive manufacturing facility.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires a passing score on the Powered Industrial Truck training tests administered by Magna Seating Detroit)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team oriented
- communicates well with others and able to interact with people at al levels and departments
- Excellent problem solving and leadership skills
- Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills
- Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MRP
