JOB SUMMARY:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for ensuring a thorough understanding and compliance with customer systems, including GM, Chrysler, Tesla, Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, and Tier 1 suppliers. This role manages finished goods inventory levels, oversees delivery ratings, and resolves customer service delivery concerns. The Master Scheduler schedules production based on customer demand and collaborates with Materials and Operations teams to maintain the necessary component inventory levels. Additional responsibilities include accuracy of finished goods inventory and implementing an annual freight plan in coordination with the Logistics Specialist to optimize logistics costs, milk runs, and local delivery routes. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure customer orders are fulfilled, utilizing customer systems for ASNs, labeling, and notifications.
- Identify, maintain, and monitor appropriate finished goods inventory levels, communicating requirements via the production of old products while minimizing obsolete inventory.
- Monitor customer demand to ensure material availability for production schedules and report schedule attainment to Materials and Operations leadership. Take corrective actions when necessary.
- Implement Just-In-Time (JIT) techniques to improve material flow and support business objectives.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, and enhancing delivery performance.
- Train and monitor customer component levels, linking Magna systems with customer systems, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain responsibility for customer scorecard information, ensuring accuracy and timely communication.
- Serve as Materials team representative on new program teams, communicating changes to relevant team members. May supervise or provide work direction to other staff.
- Researches and recommends current material control management practices and implements appropriate changes as necessary.
- Performs other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, with at least one year of experience in materials or related field; automotive industry experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and perform well under pressure.
- Solid understanding of production inventory control techniques and principles with knowledge of formal manufacturing control systems and JIT concepts strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize standard and specialized equipment used to perform job duties.
- Two years’ experience in related field with emphasis on production scheduling, OEM systems, material pull systems, and JIT techniques; or inventory management is a plus.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in developing strategies, planning resource allocation, and motivating team toward departmental objectives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions aligned with company goals.
- English proficiency required, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

- The employee must be able to tolerate sitting for extended periods of time.
- It requires (Near/Far/Depth/Color) vision in order to be able to tolerate the eye strain associated with working on a computer throughout the workday.
- Must be able to tolerate the use of a keyboard and mouse on average of 6 hours per workday.
- While working in the Plant environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.
- Ability to travel locally and globally .
