Role Summary

As a Manufacturing Process Technician at Magna Engineered Glass, you will provide essential technical support to our production team throughout all manufacturing phases. Your role includes actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cycle times and minimizing downtime due to setup, change-overs, processes, and tooling. You will troubleshoot, identify, and implement improvements in work cell layout, process flow, and work standards. Additionally, you'll conduct manufacturing process tests, develop work standards, and provide training and work direction to fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance manufacturing processes.

- Develop and revise processes for new programs.

- Assist in resolving quality problems and prepare defect reports.

- Monitor machinery and equipment for safety and cleanliness.

- Conduct end-of-arm-tooling setup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

- Perform machine start-up and shut-down, ensuring all sub-systems are operational.

- Minimize downtime related to die changes and process setup.

- Ensure the availability of necessary parts and supplies.

- Adjust processes to maintain continuous quality production.

- Swiftly respond to issues or concerns raised by the production team.

- Document process adjustments correctly.

- Troubleshoot operating difficulties.

- Handle hazardous waste material responsibly.

- Participate in cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks.

- Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.

- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, employees are required to:

- Talk and hear regularly.

- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the day.

- Frequently lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.

 

- Completion of GRCC Technical Certificate courses, including related work experience and blueprint reading skills.

- Ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on equipment and systems in the area of responsibility.

- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

- Project management and problem-solving skills.

- Completion of training in MAGnet Work Instructions as required for the "Process Technician" role.
