About the Role

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all IT operation within the plant. They will lead a team of IT professionals to ensure the smooth functioning of the plant's technology infrastructure, systems, and networks. The IT Manager will also collaborate with other departments and IT stakeholders to identity and implement IT solutions that align with the plant's goals and objectives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Directs daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines.
  • Plans, designs, and maintains the IT framework structure.
  • Directs operations of computers and related equipment, including telecommunications and data networks. Evaluate the organization's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.
  • Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, security, and integrity of computer software.
  • Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Directs and coordinates consultations with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.

  • Strong communication skills to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization.
  • Understands organizational needs and is able to direct/manage others in the development of plans for acquisition and installation of equipment.
  • Strategic mindset that can establish programming standards and methods of evaluating data for use throughout the organization.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing an IT Department or equivalent work experience in a plant manufacturing setting.
  • Program Certifications such as Microsoft, VMWare, SQL, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and prioritize/deal with several issues at one time.  Flexibility to be able to adapt to changing needs of the department.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to represent the Company in a professional manner and communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and experience within this environment.
  • Proven hands-on-experience working with IT systems.
