Analyzes financial plans and projections and provides information to management under minimal direction. Analyzes and interprets actual performance to plan, explains key variances, and makes recommendations for action.  Accountable for critically analyzing processes and controls, identifying deficiencies, and assisting with remediation efforts actively driving profitability improvements.



  • Bachelors’ degree with a major in accounting or finance required, Masters’ preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a financial analyst required, in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Strong financial and data analysis skills.
  • Proficient advanced computer skills, knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Proficient advanced computer-based application software:  manufacturing software/databases (SAP, HFM & BW a plus),
  • Good verbal and written communication skills combined with interpersonal skills.



  • Participate in the overall analysis of the group’s financial results.
  • Participate in monthly meetings to review, understand and document major performance variances by operating entity through dialogue.
  • Works cross functionally with Sales group for thorough understanding of customer contractual situations (Giveback, terms, etc.).
  • Experience in product costing and profitability analysis/controlling.
  • Generate key financial reports and other key operating metrics on a monthly basis for distribution to executive management.
  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly review materials for executive management.
  • Assesses financial/operations results and controls in terms of costs, budgets, trends, etc.  Makes recommendations for increased profit opportunities, more efficient asset utilization, etc. and provides management with relevant information for effective planning.
  • Recommends financial opportunities and identifies potential risks.
  • Review of division financial statements to understand major fluctuations.
  • Assist in the division budget and forecast preparation through analytics and data integrity (Volume and trend analysis / Sales Projections).
  • Support Controller and other members of division leadership as needed with ad hoc projects (Magna information requests, special projects, tax).
  • Assist in both External/internal audits and reviews.
  • Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
