Role Summary

To assist the Human Resources Manager with all aspects of Human Resources administration, including Employee relations matters, compensation/benefits, payroll, recruitment, etc. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure Magna’s Human Resources systems and policies are consistently applied based on principles of Magna’s Employee’s Charter, and are in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations
  2. Conduct recruiting activities to support production requirements
  3. Assist in developing and conducting new Employee orientations to cover Magna Employee Charter, company policies and procedures, and benefits information
  4. Maintain Division job description program
  5. Assist in administration of division drug testing program and maintain statistics
  6. Provide counsel and support to Employees and management on employee relations matters and seek to maintain balanced level of positive Employee relations
  7. Maintain Employee Handbook and ensure adherence throughout company.  Ensure Handbook is kept up to date by timely incorporation of policy revisions.
  8. Administer all Division benefit programs and serve as resource on benefit issues
  9. Assist in the administration of  Workers’ Compensation program, FMLA program and disability management
  10. Assist in Wage Progression program
  11. Administer Job Posting program
  12. Prepare and conduct presentations to encourage health and education on insurance cost containment
  13. Provide back up to payroll processing
  14. Assist in administering PeopleSoft database, ensuring it is kept current, and liaison with Magna Corporate as appropriate
  15. Promote and ensure full utilization of all communication channels so that continuous dialogue exists among Employees, Direct Leaders and management
  16. Provide counsel and support to Human Resources Manager.
  17. Ensure timely completion of relevant portions of EOS Action Plan
  18. Maintain high profile with Employees on plant floor and be a strong advocate to ensure timely resolution of Employee concerns and issues
  19. Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
  20. Promote and facilitate Open Door process and Fair Treatment
  21. Participate in Continual Improvement activities
  22. Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
  23. Assist in all aspects of Human Resources as needed.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned
  25. Follows and supports LMV Automotive System’s and Magna’s operating principles, including:

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  1. Must have high school diploma or GED
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration or a combination of job related training
  3. Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in Human Resource field.
  4. SHRM Certification Preferred

Physical Demands:
General factory environment with occasional expectations of the employee the individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with Employees, management, customers and suppliers. Flexible/additional hours as required

Environmental Conditions:
The work environment is primarily office and includes manufacturing plant.
