Summary
Maintains, installs, upgrades and supports company servers and computer systems. Operates network systems as required. Ensures servers are backed up and server data is secure from unauthorized access. Responsible for overall computer security administration. Assists users with any PC related problems they may encounter. Support all hardware and software in house as needed. Maintains open communications with the department manager in order to support a good team mentality. (Experience: 1-5 years)
Key Responsibilities
(This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed in this position. Associates will be required to follow any other job related instructions or to perform other job duties requested by their manager.)
1. Covers for the IT Manager in their absence.
2. Remains informed of all health, safety, and environmental policies.
3. Knows and understands the LMV quality policies.
4. Is available on an “on call” basis to handle emergencies during off shifts.
5. Suggests long range planning goals for information technology upgrades.
6. Maintain process documentation.
7. Provides broad stroke training so that users have the base knowledge needed to interact with systems and perform their job effectively. In depth training will be provided by other sources.
8. Assists users with installation of software deemed necessary for their job requirements.
9. Provides support for resetting of passwords and assisting with other access needs with appropriate prior approvals.
10. Makes recommendations to the IT Manager regarding areas which should be targeted for modification and/or upgrade.
11. Coordinates with Magna Global IT Teams on required updates and remain abreast of upcoming changes communicated by that group.
12. Maintains proper security on files/folders/systems to insure data integrity.
13. Insures that servers are kept fully patched.
14. Performs regular backups of Windows. Also periodically tests those backups for accuracy.
15. Researches available options on upcoming hardware and software purchases and recommends a preferred course of action.
16. Obtains competitive quotes on purchases to insure that LMV receives the best possible value.
17. Initiates the requisition process for any identified Information Systems purchases with the approval of the department manager.
18. Follows and supports LMV Automotive System’s and Magna’s operating principles, including:

g. Exhibits and lives the division’s core values and holds direct reports to these standards.
19. Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the department manager.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of five years’ experience within the information Technology field.
• Experience administering a Windows IP-based network.
• Experience with HP switches, Active Directory, Current Windows Server OS, WiFi setup.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• A comprehensive set of knowledge, skills, and abilities in relation to current information.
• Ability to provide quality technical support for all users.
• Ability to maintain a responsive attitude towards user needs.
• Must be able to research available options on upcoming hardware and software purchases and recommend a preferred course of action.
• Must be able to obtain competitive quotes on purchases to insure that LMV receives the best value possible.
• Must initiate the requisition process for any identified Information Systems purchase with the approval of the department manager.
• Must be an excellent self-motivator and be able to work well under minimal direct oversight.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing not a requirement, but a definite plus.
Additional Information
Physical Demands:
• Involves some physical activity, which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on an occasional basis. Involves lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to distinguish between basic shades of color.
Environmental Conditions:
• General office environment with occasional exposure to general factory environment.

• Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
• Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors and visitors.
• Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
