Group Summary

Performs tasks to ensure materials are available for repair, adaptation, preventative maintenance and installation for all plant equipment, machinery and the building itself. Position requires daily communication with suppliers to ensure that parts are receiving on time and available for the maintenance team in order to ensure the timely scheduling of maintenance. The Tool Crib Attendant will communicate the status of all ordered parts and materials as required.
The Tool Crib Attendant will work independently while maintaining communication with the Purchasing Manager on specific activities and the Maintenance/Production departments.
Duties Summary:
- Maintains all tools and parts in the crib; in an orderly and secure manner to ensure stock accessibility in a busy production environment sustaining plant 5S standards.
- Completes purchase requisitions for operational (Trans4M system) and repair/maintenance work (Sprocket) using the applicable management system.
- Requests and maintains files of competitive bids on standard stocked items, new tooling, services and the majority of crib items. Updates supplier quotes annually at a minimum.
- Ensures that stock levels of tooling, maintenance, and stocked crib items are monitored, maintained and distributed in a controlled manner as per the work instructions.
- Receives, unpacks incoming materials and stocks in appropriate, labelled locations; requisitions stock to replenish inventory in a timely manner. Follows up on orders to ensure timely deliveries.
Qualifications:
- Three years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing plant
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Previous experience with a multiple management systems (Trans4M and Sprocket)
- Purchasing experience is desired
- Demonstrates self-motivation, strong work ethic and a desire to learn
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and possess excellent multitasking skills while maintaining high quality work.
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to read and write basic English; Mathematical Skills
