Role Summary

Performs various re-work operations to ensure suspect material is placed back into the production process and quality is acceptable prior to shipping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Based on the JES, sort and repair parts using various hand tools and machinery, including set-up of such tools and machinery.
  • Maintain a list of jobs that are slated for rework.
  • Responsible to maintain rework records to ensure traceability.
  • Ensure that there is a rework procedure before performing any rework operations.
  • Ensure all quality checks and documentation is performed as per the rework instructions.
  • Ensure rework and box making area is kept clean according to MSC (Magna Seating Columbus) expectations (bins straight, tools and fixtures put away, general tidiness).
  • Ensure all parts are well identified according to QS 9000 standards.
  • Assist with monthly inventory.
  • Work with and train, according to re-work procedures, any assigned personnel.
  • Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
  • Maintain adequate level of box making materials.
  • Assemble boxes to meet daily production requirements.
  • Participates in 5s cleaning activities and follows 5s standards
  • Rework Operator will be authorized to use the forklift on occasion, for the moving of materials, if they are licensed.
  • Adhering to all IATF 16949 policies and procedures
  • Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety) systems and standards as it pertains to their work
  • Fill out and record scrap daily
  • Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Previous weld experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Position requires diligence and flexibility.
