Role Summary

  • To exhibit a fair and consistent management approach that follows the principles outlined in The Magna Employee’s Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive employee workplace.
  • To identify growth and developmental opportunities and on-going training needs of supervisory personnel, which provide for an overall positive working environment.
  • To persuade and support the Company policies and business objectives in the daily management of the operations of the Company
  • To lead and direct departmental health and safety objectives and to support Company directed health and safety directives which provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all DexSys employees that includes:
  1. Establishing departmental measurable and goals that are monitored, tracked and audited on a regular basis and communicated to employees through daily Team Meetings.
  2. Maintain and post Open Issues Lists within the department that identify opportunities to improve safety related issues and develop action plans to actively address identified issues in a timely manner.
  3. Recognize specific achievements within the department regarding improvements in safety, environmental, ergonomics and employee wellness.
  4. Enforce all DexSys safety rules and regulations consistently and hold Team Leaders accountable for enforcing said rules.
  5. Actively participate in Accident Investigations and correct unsafe conditions in a prudent and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily team meetings and offer ideas/suggestions that contribute to meeting the performance objectives.
  • Manage and train team leaders and team members in developing teamwork skills and team oriented activities.
  • Track time sheets, attendance records and complete performance reviews.
  • Coordinate staffing needs and handle personnel issues.
  • Ensure compliance to IATF-16949 procedures, monitor development and compliance of all work guidancees.
  • Assess the abilities of personnel and resources, and allocate to areas of expertise and utilization.
  • Maintain daily schedules and maintain weekly production requirements.
  • Ensure training needs are met with all personnel and procedures are being followed.
  • Coordinate all production equipment to meet production schedules.
  • Guide and participate in departmental continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business field of study. 
  • Twelve years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.  Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.
  • Implementation knowledge of OSHA industry health and safety regulations.
  • Operational knowledge of management information systems, use of personal computers and application software.
  • Extensive manufacturing management experience in a high volume, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, problem solving and people skills.

Additional Information

  • This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day and
  • The ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • The ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the   shoulders on an occasional basis. 
  • Ability to climb stairs is necessary.  Good vision at a close distance is required. 
  • Must be willing to comply with DexSys' Wellness Program.  DexSys is a nicotine and tobacco free facility on-site and off-site.
