Role Summary

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This position contributes to the success of LMV by ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA), and accident prevention. This person is responsible for deploying, implementing, and leading the HSE agenda, at the division, by working together with the Leadership team with the integration of Safety, Environmental, prevention, and regulatory compliance into everyday work life.

Role Summary II

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Division HSE Coordinator has responsibility to analyze accident data, develop and implement actionable safety solutions. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in HSE and can clearly articulate, develop and implement actionable plans. The candidate is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving ability to develop best-in-class HSE programs for the improvement of the overall HSE strategy within the division.

Key Responsibilities

  1. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Implement, execute, ensure compliance with the Cosma/Magna International HSE policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local OSHA/EPA regulations (i.e. Lockout, HazCom, Machine Safety, SARA, RCRA, etc.)
  2. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead the development and implementation of the HSE Annual Operating Plans and HSE Action Plans for the Division; develop and track KPI HSE Metrics for the division
  3. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Achieve annual targets rates for Lost Time, Recordable, Severity, and Environmental
  4. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, and environmental incidents
  5. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  6. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental protection
  7. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Conduct HSE activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements, Cosma/Magna standards, and internal LMV HSE procedures
  8. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures
  9. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use
  10. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the location leadership to drive continuous HSE improvement across the location

 

Key Responsibilities II
  1. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Complete root-cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques (5-Why, 8-D, etc.)
  2. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure compliance of all external contractors as part of the Contractor Management Program
  3. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Manage environment aspects of the work site; (e.g. waste disposal, recycling, air emission approvals, spill control, etc).
  4. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop, maintain, and communicate HSE procedures/work instructions/processes to applicable team members and leadership.
  5. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Identify, maintain and control all HSE records.
  6. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead the investigation of HSE nonconformities as appropriate and follow up on corrective/preventive actions to ensure closure.
  7. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Prepare information required for Management Review of the integrated HSE Management System and participate in the review.
  8. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Follow and adhere to requirements of current customer quality, safety and environmental management systems standards.
  9. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participate in the approval process for new products.
  10. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develops, implements, maintains and coordinates the health and safety management system (eg. JHSC, EPRP, PPA) for the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of hazards.
  11. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Manages and administers professional health and safety services, respecting confidences and advises honestly.
Key Responsibilities III
  1. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Coordinates external services for annual and biannual air and noise sampling.
  2. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensures and maintains accurate records to provide documentation and accountability in support of findings and conclusions.
  3. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provides HSE training of personnel as it pertains to their position in the company and the health and safety management system.
  4. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Chair of JHSC; and makes recommendations as required.
  5. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Reviews investigation of accidents/incidents and follows up to ensure completion of recommendations.  Cooperates in the preparation of material/evidence for use in hearings and insurance investigations.
  6. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Promotes/recommends continuous improvement suggestions including environment, people, processes and equipment/machinery
  7. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Abides by all plant health, safety and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  8. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality (TS 16949), safety (OHSAS 18001) and environmental (ISO 14001) management systems standards.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Post-secondary education in safety engineering or related certification
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">5+ years of work experience in the Health, Safety, and Environmental disciplines with proven success in the overall program management
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Direct job related experience with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and DOT
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Direct job related experience with HSE Management systems and their deployment
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Direct job related experience in HSE auditing.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge in CFR 1910 General Industry
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Practical experience managing ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and TS16949
