About the Role

This position is responsible for the general maintenance of LMV Automotive Systems facilities. In addition, this position will coordinate and proved onsite support for 3rd party contractors performing facility maintenance. 

Your Responsibilities

(This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed in this position. Associates will be required to follow any other job-related instructions or to perform other job duties requested by their manager.)

1.    Performs preventive building maintenance duties.
2.    Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
3.    Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps. 
4.    Assembles and moves furniture, hang pictures and bulletin boards, installs nameplates, moves, and sets up tables and chairs.
5.    Repairs and replaces doorknobs or locks, repairs door closures, patches holes in walls.
6.    Paints interior and exterior walls.
7.    General cleaning internal, external and snow removal.
8.    Handle confidential information on a regular basis.
9.    Attend daily pre-shift meetings and carry out assigned workloads as directed by Shift/Area Leader.
10.    Obtain and attend training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required.
11.    Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software.
12.    To work in a safe, quality minded and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines.
13.    Communicates with assistant maintenance manager and maintenance area/shift leaders and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns and status reports as and when required.
14.    Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

•    High school diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
•    Ability to perform various computer functions including Microsoft Office.
•    Ability to safely operate all Material Handling equipment (forklift, scissor lifts, boom lifts and floor scrubber) in assigned area of responsibility.
•    Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
•    Knowledge of a variety of building procedures and techniques.
•    Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of public buildings.
•    Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
•    Skill in reading and following blueprints and assembly instructions.
•    Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
•    Skill in using hand and power tools.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the public.
•    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
•    Must maintain a valid driver’s license, may be required to pick up parts and supplies.
•    Must have good organizational skills.
•    Ability to obtain and hold a boom/scissor lift license.

Physical Demands

•    Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking. 
•    Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
•    Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.

Environmental Conditions:

•    Must be able to work in various locations within and outside the manufacturing plant.
•    Must be able to rotate working shifts and weekend overtime to meet department requirements with a minimum amount of supervision.
•    Exposed regularly to elements such as temperature and noise.    
•    Safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment.
•    Must be comfortable with working at heights and within confined spaces.

Environmental, Health & Safety:

•    Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
•    Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
•    Cooperate with all local, state, and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
•    Know and follow all applicable EH&S Policies and Procedures.
