Role Summary

To assist the Human Resources Manager with all aspects of Human Resources administration, including Employee relations matters, compensation/benefits, payroll, recruitment, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure Magna’s Human Resources systems and policies are consistently applied based on principles of Magna’s Employee’s Charter and are in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
  2. Conduct recruiting activities to support production requirements.
  3. Assist in developing and conducting new Employee orientations to cover Magna Employee Charter, company policies and procedures, and benefits information.
  4. Maintain Division job description program.
  5. Assist in the administration of the division drug testing program and maintain statistics.
  6. Provide counsel and support to Employees and management on employee relations matters and seek to maintain a balanced level of positive Employee relations
  7. Maintain Employee Handbook and ensure adherence throughout the company.  Ensure Handbook is kept up to date by timely incorporation of policy revisions.
  8. Administer all Division benefit programs and serve as a resource for benefit issues.
  9. Assist in the administration of the Workers’ Compensation program, FMLA program, and disability management.
  10. Assist in Wage Progression program.
  11. Administer Job Posting program.
Key Responsibilities Continued
  1. Prepare and conduct presentations to encourage health and education on insurance cost containment.
  2. Provide back up to payroll processing.
  3. Assist in administering PeopleSoft database, ensuring it is kept current, and liaison with Magna Corporate as appropriate
  4. Promote and ensure full utilization of all communication channels so that continuous dialogue exists among Employees, Direct Leaders, and management.
  5. Provide counsel and support to Human Resources Manager.
  6. Ensure timely completion of relevant portions of the EOS Action Plan.
  7. Maintain a high profile with Employees on the plant floor and be a strong advocate to ensure timely resolution of employee concerns and issues.
  8. Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example.
  9. Promote and facilitate Open Door process and Fair Treatment.
  10. Participate in Continual Improvement activities.
  11. Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
  12. Assist in all aspects of Human Resources as needed.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications: (These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.)

 

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration or a combination of job-related training
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in the Human Resource field.
  • SHRM Certification Preferred

Additional Information

Physical Demands:

General factory environment with occasional expectations of the employee, the individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor,

in meetings, and with Employees, management, customers, and suppliers. Flexible/additional hours as required.

 

Environmental Conditions:

The work environment is primarily office and includes manufacturing plant.
