About the Role
Directs the workflow in the maintenance department by managing employees and projects. Works with vendors and contractors as necessary.
Your Responsibilities

1. Oversees and directs maintenances employees, in a safe, quality minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to attain production priorities as scheduled.
2. Hold daily pre-shift meetings on assigned shift with employees. Visits other pre-shift meetings in the department to provide feedback and support.
3. Communicates with maintenance manager and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns, providing status reports as appropriate.
4. Assists in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all plant equipment.
5. Follows and supports LMV Automotive Systems’ and Magna’s operating principles, including:
a. Magna Employee Charter – Operating under its principles by treating all employees equally, fairly and with dignity and respect without favoritism.
b. Open Door Policy – Facilitates the process without fear of reprisal. Solves issues by encouraging two-way, open and friendly communication.
c. C48 – Listens to issues and concerns and responds within 48 hours
d. 5S – Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy “Everything has a place. Everything in its place”.
e. Safety First - Leads by example and enforces all of the plant’s safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.
f. Company quality and environmental policies.
6. Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.
7. Conducts performance evaluations on employees that are tied to plant and company goals and provides regular feedback on work performance, utilizing individual corrective action plans if necessary. Applies consistent and fair progressive discipline to employees when necessary and discusses such action with appropriate personnel.
8. Ensures all documentation is maintained, including employee documentation.
9. Works with vendors and/or contractors displaying company values of honesty and integrity.
10. Leads the department in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
11. May be required to adjust shifts as necessary.
12. Handle confidential information on a regular basis.
13. Performs maintenance duties as assigned.

Your preferred qualifications
(These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.)
Education and/or Experience:
• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of PLC, ladder logic, robotic interfaces and programming.
• Prefer a two year associates degree or higher in a related field.
• Prefer three years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must have good organizational and managerial skills to attend to multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be proficient in computer operations.
• Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, diagrams, requirements and business correspondences.
• Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as appropriate.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must have good organizational skills.
